In Pakistan, a Child Registration Certificate (also known as NADRA B-Form) is a mandatory document for every child, which is used to register minors under the age of 18 years. You can obtain Child Registration Certificate from NADRA by submitting the required documents and following the specified procedure. Child registration process in Pakistan has been automated and the certificate can be obtained by presenting documented proof of child birth from union council. Child Registration Certificate should not be confused with newborn registration and can be obtained without any hassle if you follow the procedure mentioned below.

What is a Child Registration Certificate?

A CRC (Child Registration Certificate) is mandatory under Pakistani law. It is mandatory for parents to register their children aged below 18 years at NADRA and obtain CRC. Prior to obtaining this certificate, you are required to obtain a birth certificate for your child. How to get a birth certificate? It’s simple! You just need newborn registration document to get a new birth certificate.

CRC (also known as Bay Form in Pakistan) can be acquired by visiting your nearest NADRA branch. Registering your child would mean that you provide NADRA with all the required information. The NADRA B-form information would act as a source of verification when a request for CNIC will be made once a child turns 18 years old.

Documents Required for NADRA Child Registration Certificate

Under NADRA’s B-form requirements, a documented proof of child birth from the union council is required. You can obtain this document only from your area’s union council office. Parents, applying for their child’s new CRC, will be required to present their CNIC. Their own presence will be mandatory to complete the process of obtaining a Child Registration Certificate as only they can provide accurate birth registration details.

In case, parents aren’t present, then first blood relatives can apply for CRC. However, they will have to present Court Guardian Certificate to fulfil the requirements of NADRA’s B-form. In situations where parents have expired, a death certificate will be required by NADRA, and in cases where a child has been adopted, a Court Guardian Certificate will be required as part of NADRA’s B-form requirements.

NADRA Child Registration Certificate Process

The NADRA B-form procedure isn’t time taking. In order to obtain this certificate, you only have to fill the NADRA’s online application form available on the website. Fill out the child registration form and make sure that you enter correct details as same data will be used for issuing a CNIC when your child turns 18 years old.

Child Registration Certificate’s fee is Rs. 50 for normal category and Rs. 500 for executive category. You cannot request urgent processing of this certificate. Normally, Child Registration Certificate is issued within five working days.
